Gearbox showed a tech demo during this year’s GDC.
Randy Pitchford, president of Gearbox, has taken the podium during Epic’s Unreal Engine-presentation, where he showed some assets that could be used in a „future Gearbox game.” Although Pitchford didn’t name it, it’s obvious that what we can see below the article is going to be the basis of Borderlands 3. The tech demo is ominous.
Pitchford kept repeating during his presentation that the character and the environment may or may not be used in that so-called future Gearbox game, but by constantly repeating it was a little more than pointless in our opinion. He also said that the new technology (namely, Unreal Engine 4) would allow the developers to create real-time shadows, and different physics depending on the planets.
Borderlands 3 is in development, but no release date and target platforms have been announced. Perhaps they will be revealing them at E3…
