The video sharing website that everyone (EVERYONE) knows, has a tough situation.
The site, which has been owned by Google for a decade now, has already been in our news earlier this year, when PewDiePie, the user with the most subscribers on YouTube, has had his partnership company fire him for his racist remarks (even if they were admittedly parodies). Wall Street Journal reports that companies, such as PepsiCo, Walmart, Dish, Starbucks, McDonalds, and General Motors, have removed their advertising after realizing that Microsoft, Amazon, and Coca-Cola still have their ads next to videos with anti-Semitic, racist, and homophobe content. Financial Times says that major advertising networks are now demanding discounts from YouTube as well due to the current political status quo as well.
This nut might be tough to crack for the site.
