The Nintendo Switch Keeps Breaking Records

Not even Nintendo seems to have expected this amount of popularity.

GameStop, which recently has announced the closure of at least 150 shops worldwide, has held its financial earnings call, where the Chief Operating Officer, Tony Bartel has said that the Switch has increased the shops’ traffic. The attach rates for the new Zelda game is almost 100% (which means almost everybody picks Breath of the Wild for their Switch), and the console runs out of stock in just a few hours after restocking them. (In other words, it sells like hot cakes.)

Reggie Fils-Aime has confirmed their high performance – the American Nintendo president has said that the Switch is about to have a better launch than the DS and the Wii a decade ago. „I’m setting sales records every day with the Nintendo Switch. […] We’ve turned the industry on its ear,” Reggie says.

They will have to keep up the performance with good software, and the first year of the Switch will make or break the console – it has to catch the attention of third-party publishers, which hasn’t happened for a while with Nintendo.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
