Yoko Taro said a few new things about his recent game, NieR: Automata.
In his interview with Siliconera , he explained why both NieR games have an option to delete the save file after completing the game. He says a lot of people are watching streams and YouTube videos about his game (it applies to both titles), and still, he wanted to implement something to rewards those players that invest a lot of time into his product(s).
He also explained how he ended up making a happy ending for NieR: Automata. „I didn’t come up with the happy ending initially when creating and developing this game. I kind of left that off to the side for a very long time and continued to work on some of the other aspects. As I developed all of the characters’ journeys, I started thinking about what would be the most fitting ending for all of those characters, and that resulted in the E ending. In the world of writing, the characters move toward that ending themselves, and they directed me to write toward that end. In the end, it’s probably what the characters had hoped for – what they would have desired,” he said.
NieR: Automata got a lot of mostly positive attention in the news from the underwear trophy to the chance of purchasing a few trophies. That should mean it’s a good game, right? Indeed.
