Activision and Sledgehammer have confirmed the previous rumors.
The last time we talked about Call of Duty, it was regarding a leak of WWII. Back then, we already suspected that Sledgehammer (Advanced Warfare) would follow Electronic Arts and DICE back to the past, but with the second World War in focus instead of the first. Activision has also previously stated that the next Call of Duty game would go back to the roots.
On the franchise’s website, a countdown showed up, confirming that WWII is going to get revealed on April 26, 10 AM PST/1PM EST. Last year, Infinite Warfare wasn’t liked by the people (who pushed its reveal trailer as far as becoming one of the most disliked videos on YouTube ever), so WWII has to restore the faith in the franchise.
Going by the image, it might be your typical „oooh Americans defeating the Nazis” plot, but we may be wrong… although Sledgehammer’s aim that they want a historically accurate game, isn’t a good sign.
Also, going by the massive leak (via NeoGAF forums) that you can see below, it turns out that the game would launch on November 3, a Friday, for PS4/X1/PC, and pre-ordering would earn you a private beta access. The other thing that deserves mention is a standalone, cooperative story mode. We’ll see how that turns out.
