The 2017 E3 will not have all three manufacturers present again – who’s skipping a trip to Los Angeles?
Somehow it was bound to happen, despite not being a sharp decision this year: Nintendo starts to gain power, as well as third-party support with the Switch, and still, they just don’t want to do a live E3 press conference in 2017. They’re going to go with a Nintendo Direct yet again to show us the upcoming Switch and 3DS games. Who knows, maybe it would have been a good idea to lead a show with the NoA president, Reggie-Fils Aime…
And yet, Nintendo decided to reveal a new hardware online: they announced the New Nintendo 2DS XL, which now has a hinge, unlike the original 2DS, making it more similar to the big bro 3DS than before. This small handheld will launch on July 28 in the United States for 150 bucks – it won’t have 3D, but the facelifted 2DS will have the same screen size as the New 3DS XL.
…wouldn’t it have been a better idea to reveal it at the E3?
