Unfortunately, it is a real case.Ruslan Sokolovsky, a Russian YouTuber has uploaded a vlog last year, which you can see below. In it, he shows a news clip, which explains that anyone who plays Pokémon Go in a church can be fined for up to half a million rubles (~8770 dollars), or even end up in jail for three years (!) due to blasphemy.
Not long after uploading the video, the Russian authorities have contacted Sokolovsky, who was arrested for inciting religious hatred, and he was put under house arrest, according to Reuters. Sokolovsky has already been in jail once for six months, and he may be going back there for 3.5 years – the verdict will be passed on May 11. Sokolovsky considers himself only as an idiot, but not as an extremist.
