House Arrested Pokémon Go Player’s Court Rule

The Russian court in Yekaterinburg has ruled about Ruslan Sokolovsky’s future.

Previously, we wrote about how he was playing Pokémon Go in an Orthodox temple. Thus, Russian authorities have contacted him and put him under house arrest for nine months. What is going to be his future?

Judge Yekaterina Shoponyak convicted him of three charges, including inciting hatred, as well as violating believers’ rights. He was cursing in the temple, as well as stating that Pokémons are easier to find than Jesus. „Aggregating all offenses, the court sentences (Sokolovsky) to three years and six months in prison. The punishment is suspended, with a probationary period of three years.” His statements confused citizens, and were disrespectful towards society, making Sokolovsky, an atheist, having done extremist actions. (He also got 160 hours of community service to serve.)

There’s still a glimmer of hope for the humanity.
