PlatinumGames doesn’t rule out of developing the game.
Atsushi Inaba, a producer of the dev team, has said the following to SourceGaming:
„I would like to make Bayonetta 3. We’re talking within the company even now about what to do, but because we’re constantly talking about it, that makes it hard to say. If we weren’t talking about it, we could just say something random or offhand, you know, but because we’re talking about it…”
Previously, there were already talks about a „new, formless IP,” but PlatinumGames seems to care about its other IPs as well. Perhaps the sequel could be one of the Nintendo Switch killer apps, as Bayonetta 2 was financed by Nintendo in return for being a Wii U-exclusive. Not everything is in SEGA’s possession now, which means the Switch could be home for Bayonetta 3.
