After the Antagonist, it’s time to delve into the game’s background story.
A 7.5-minute trailer? That’s a user-friendly approach – MercurySteam did not think it would be a good idea to deal with the plot in thirty seconds. Instead, they thought the 4v1 asymmetric shooter deserves a bit of explanation.
Quoting the press release, „in one of the moons of Saturn, a scientific expedition from Earth discovers the remains of a space ship stranded millions of years ago. The explorers enter the ruins and discover Aleph, an incredible power source that is the key to interstellar travel. Motivated by private interest and corporate greed, the organization sends a group of paramilitary factions to the Broken Planet. On arrival, an accident renders the paramilitaries technology useless, and the factions begin a battle for supremacy, Aleph and the alien technology that can return them back to earth.” The Antagonist’s role also gets a mention. It’s better than nothing…
