Insomniac Games revealed a few new details about the upcoming PlayStation 4-exclusive Spider-Man.
The game’s web swinging system is going to be physics based, and good players can traverse New York faster than the others. That’s OK. The developers confirmed that the game on PlayStation 4 Pro would use a Temporal Injection solution, similar to Ratchet & Clank, with a 4K/30FPS resolution/frame rate duo. 1080/60 is likely not happening due to CPU limitations (on Xbox One X, Crackdown 3 is not going to be 60 FPS, and it could be the same problem with Sony as well…), and the developers have to optimize their game for the original PlayStation 4, too.
Insomniac also revealed that there would be first-person sections in their game, although you won’t be able to switch the perspective manually. The combat system wasn’t shown in its full glory during the E3 presentation, either.
Spider-Man, which will have a 4-6 times bigger area than Xbox One-exclusive, Insomniac-developed Sunset Overdrive, was shown behind closed doors in detail, and we should see the game’s video shortly. The game will launch 2018, and it’s likely going to be the first half of the year – May or June is likely due to the new Avengers movie.

@insomniacgames On the Pro, could you make an option for 1080p60fps?
Would be sweet to atleast try the game in 60fps.#Spidermanps4— Frotzy (@Frotzyy) June 18, 2017
@insomniacgames With 1st person view is that something we’re going to be able to switch to anytime or only in certain play through gameplay
