After Shadow of Mordor, Monolith wants to make up for the mistakes in another aspect.
At E3, Gamereactor interviewed Bob Roberts, Monolith’s Design Director said the following: „We’re trying to make this [Shadow of War] like the conclusive feeling epic ending for these characters and this story that we only really got halfway through last time. We’ll wrap up Talion and Celebrimbor I think in a way that people will find very satisfying. We took that criticism from last time as well; the ending was a little lackluster, I think if anything, people will think we’re overcompensating this time a bit.”
Overcompensating isn’t that much of a problem if the game is great – if the ending is explosive, we won’t be disappointed. If Shadow of War manages to avoid the mistake that Halo 2 did (great game, cliffhanger, shocking ending), then the game, which will arrive on October 10 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, will be highly regarded by us.
