The company – which owns Bethesda – gets taken to court by a singer/songwriter.
Dion DeMucci, whose song, The Wanderer was used in a trailer, which you can see below, finds unacceptable that his song was used in a „repugnant and morally indefensible” Fallout 4 advertisement.
The Californian lawsuit says: „”Defendant’s commercials were objectionable because they featured repeated homicides in a dark, dystopian landscape, where violence is glorified as a sport. The killings and physical violence were not to protect innocent life, but instead were repugnant and morally indefensible images designed to appeal to young consumers.”
However, DeMucci had a contract with Universal Music Group that enabled the song to be used in Fallout 4 advertising, and he argues that he should have had the right to prohibit the usage if his terms were not met. The problem is that he did not have an agreement with Zenimax about it.
He wants at least one million dollars by ZeniMax. Will he get it? We’ll see.
