The Witcher 3’s coloring book might have started a trend… who would have thought that Geralt in a bath tub is going to be a meme?
Destiny 2‘s console beta, according to the financial earnings call of Activision Blizzard, was successful – it had more players than the first Destiny, which is no mean feat: despite dropping the PS3 and the X360 for the sequel, the numbers still grew. The pre-orders are also higher than for the first game (although partially it has to be because of the PC also getting Destiny 2).
Eric Hirshberg, the CEO of Activision has said that they might consider the DLCs of Destiny 2 to be as important as the base game. However, that comment doesn’t explain why there is going to be a coloring book for the game. No joke, Bungie has taken a fan, namely Ze Carlos’ work to an official level, and the book will launch on August 8 for 16 bucks, until then, you can get it for about 11.
To cap it off, some bad news for PC gamers: Bungie’s latest weekly report says that third-party applications will not be allowed to inject code into the PC client, which means Fraps, Discord, OBS, and XSplit will be left in the dust. (If you want to record, use NVidia Shadowplay if you have the proper GPU – for streaming, OBS/XSplit’s Screen/Window Capture will still work.)
Destiny 2 will be out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 6. The PC beta will run from August 28 for pre-orderers and August 29 for everyone else until August 31, followed by the PC port (handled by Vicarious Visions) launching on October 24.
