We kept our news articles focus on Paris Game Week today, and we’re not joking: there have been some massive surprises!
One of them is Sucker Punch‘s (inFAMOUS!) next game. We already knew that they are working on something, but now, it’s been confirmed what it would be. As the first (!) game of the conference, Ghost of Tsushima takes us back to 1274, to the Mongol invasion of Japan. Quoting the press release, „Samurai warriors are the legendary defenders of Japan–until the fearsome Mongol Empire invades the island of Tsushima, wreaking havoc and conquering the local population. As one of the last surviving samurai, you rise from the ashes to fight back. But, honorable tactics won’t lead you to victory. You must move beyond your samurai traditions to forge a new way of fighting–the way of the Ghost–as you wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Japan.”
An interesting idea, nevertheless, and it’s respectable, too: earlier this year, Nioh already showed us a bit of Japanese history, and since Western developers rarely touch the country’s past, it’s not a boring subject!
There’s no release date yet, but it’s likely that Ghost of Tsushima, which got both a trailer and an interview video, is going to be a PlayStation 4-exclusive.
