Electronic Arts has broken a record.
On Reddit, EA’s response currently has -671412 points to a question, which says „I paid 80 dollars to have Vader locked?”. We’d only like to quote their first sentence: „The intent is to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment for unlocking different heroes.” Yeah. With that response, they now have the lowest rated Reddit comment of all time. Well done!
Mat Everett, Electronic Arts’ Star Wars community manager, wrote on Twitter (which got archived, so it’s too late for that) that the outrage regarding microtransactions makes the annoyed people „armchair developers.” Another person, who we talked about previously, Sean (who doesn’t even work on the game), now has seven death threats, as well as over 1600 individual personal attacks, and on Reddit, EA has gone full defensive as well, and the company also announced that they have cut down the characters’ credit costs by 75%. However, they did not mention that the rewards have also been cut by the same percentage, not to mention how the arcade mode now has a daily credit cap. One more thing: from their customer portal, EA has deleted the refund button! Do we need to say anything else?
Two videos to wrap up – the first one is a PlayStation 4 Pro-Xbox One X-PlayStation 4-Xbox One-PC comparison, the second one is a live action trailer. The game is out on the 17th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
