Bethesda didn’t announce a new game at The Game Awards for once.
Nope. Instead, with the help of Lynda Carter (Wonder Woman actress), they ask us to save the single player gamer. The publisher’s approach is reasonable: they launched three (or, in fact, four…) games this year that had a campaign. Think of Prey, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and The Evil Within 2. (As well as Dishonored: Death of the Outsider.)
They are serious: many of their games (such as Wolfenstein II, DOOM, or Fallout 4) are now 50% off, and Bethesda will also donate 100 thousand dollars to Entertainment Software Association. This group will pay scholarships for students (women, minorities) to enter the world of the gaming industry after getting the degree.
It’s a great initiative – many of our editors prefer single player games and experiences.
