The new CEO gets a new deputy president.
Sony Interactive Entertainment‘s statement reveals that Tsuyoshi „John” Kodera, and the other deputy president, Kazuo Miura, is going to be joined by Jim Ryan, who we knew so far as the European president of SIE, as well as the head of global sales and marketing. His goal, according to the statement, is to „further reinforce and accelerate the PlayStation business on a global scale.”
Jim Ryan joined SIEE (or, to be exact, it was called Sony Computer Entertainment Europe at that time…) in 1994. „In 2011, he was appointed the president of SIEE with responsibility for leading the PlayStation business in more than 100 territories across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Oceania. He has also served as head of Global Sales and Marketing at SIE since April 2016,” the statement says.
One thing is sure: Kodera will have a tough time to get the charm and professional approach on the table that his predecessor, Andrew House had (in fact, all we have seen from him until now was a fake Twitter profile…), and Ryan will also have to fill big shoes. Especially because how he had a few questionable comments – last June, he didn’t understand why people want backward compatibility for PlayStation games… but still, we wish the best of luck to him.
