Driving a car with a controller isn’t possible in just a game anymore.
Gran Turismo and Nissan collaborated, and their work resulted in the Japanese car maker creating a Nissan GT-R (which is used for racing as well) in just six weeks. However, it’s not just an ordinary car – the Nissan GT-R/C can be remotely controlled with a DualShock 4! In short: it’s an expensive, not-a-toy RC car!
The GT-R/C’s controls are driven by hydraulic pistons, providing more pressure on the pedals than a human ever could (making braking more efficient), and the DualShock 4’s light bar provides information on the car’s current gear. Unsurprisingly, the GT-R/C is completely decked in a Gran Turismo Sport and PlayStation livery.
You can see two videos below. The first one explains how this car works, and the second one has Lucas Ordoñez’ reaction. He was the first winner of the GT Academy, proving his driving skills.
