Bungie won’t abandon the Destiny 2 ship just yet.
Collister Johnson talked about Destiny 2 during the usual financial earnings report of Activision Blizzard. The game isn’t performing well, but it is going to get a new game mode this autumn, which is going to be “an incredibly engaging new mode–one that introduces a whole new style of play for first-person shooter gaming generally and certainly for the shared-world shooter space that Destiny created. It’s a really exciting development. It’s one of the things we think will speak to the community when it comes out in the fall,” according to Johnson.
That sounds way too extreme, but we’ll see shortly… perhaps Activision and Bungie could reveal some of it during E3, but it might not happen. Is it going to be something that we have seen oh so many times recently… Battle Royale? We may never know.
Until then, have a look a video of a PlayStation 4-exclusive Strike (Insight Terminus), which is going to be part of Destiny 2’s second DLC, Warmind, which will launch next week.
