MOVIE NEWS – Its director, Paul W.S. Anderson, was also responsible for adapting Resident Evil to the world of cinema.
We already have protagonist for the Monster Hunter movie. It will be Milla Jovovich , the actress who played Alice in the film saga of Resident Evil , who will once again stand in front of the cameras to play the main character in another ambitious adaptation of a videogame to the world of cinema.
Behind the scenes will be Paul W.S. Anderson, the filmmaker in charge of directing Resident Evil films and also the creator of the fantastic Final Horizon. Produced by Constantin Films, the Monster Hunter film will have a budget close to 60 million dollars; the recording will take place in Cape Town and will begin in September of this year.
Director Paul W.S. Anderson commented months ago that one of the things he likes most about the Monster Hunter universe is that he is at the level of a Star Wars movie in terms of plot background. Despite this, the filmmaker confirmed that the film would have a completely original cast of characters, in line with what was seen in the Resident Evil film series. “I think it’s the perfect creative license for us to do exactly the same thing again,” the filmmaker said, confirming that Paul WS Anderson will direct the Monster Hunter movie.
The production will have a script by Anderson himself, and special effects will be borne by the company that worked in the films of Resident Evil, Mr. X. The film comes after the successful launch of Monster Hunter: World and the recent confirmation of the premiere of Monster Hunter Generations on Nintendo Switch.
