How could the two Sony PlayStation platforms work together aside from Remote Play?
John Kodera, the CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, gave an interview to Bloomberg Japan, and Serkan Toto quotes a few parts of it – some of which are focusing on a new kind of synergy between the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation Vita.
Kodera says Sony is „considering various options around the PlayStation Vita” again. This comes after his predecessor, Andrew House said last fall that portable gaming is not a big market (which was proven false by the success of the Nintendo Switch). He says that while the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation Vita are separate machines (home vs. portable), Sony is continuously looking for ways to offer unique game experiences.
Yesterday, we already discussed that the PlayStation 4 is entering the end of its lifecycle, but there’s another tidbit to add here: although Kodera doesn’t use the term „PlayStation 5,” he repeated that the PlayStation 4 entered the final stage of its lifecycle and that Sony will spend the next three years „preparing for the future.”
We wonder if this PlayStation 4-PlayStation Vita team-up will be available outside Japan or not…
