In the last month, consoles brought the most money to Fortnite and based on a research, most people have already bought some kind of in-game item via microtransactions.
Epic‘s Fortnite is extremely successful right now, it’s profit in the past month was more than 318 million dollars and interestingly enough most of it came from PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Based on SuperDataResearch’s analytic, while the growth is slowing down, Fortnite still managed to hit an all-time record in terms of profits past month. Most of the money came from consoles and the mobile and PC profits fell flat compared to them.
Aside from this, LendEDU did a survey with 1000 people, in which they asked persons who are playing Fortnite on a regular basis. 68.8% of them have already spent money on microtransactions and 58.9% of them were character and outfit related. On average, every player who spent money on Fortnite spent roughly 84.67 dollars so far, which is more than the price of a regular AAA game, which is 60 dollars.
What’s interesting as well is that for 36.78% of the players, this was the first game they have ever spent money on, and every fifth person didn’t know that they couldn’t get any kind of in-game advantage by using microtransactions.
