TECH NEWS – Manufacturers will start having their TV sets ready in 2019.
Samsung is investing a lot in the screens of the future, creating technologies that go beyond the 4K and working on manufacturing methods that allow the current Quantum Dot HDR televisions to be cheaper and thinner. According to a report by Display Daily, Samsung plans to offer TV manufacturers their 8K panels before the end of the year on a large scale. All this has happened during the QLED & Advanced Display Summit, which took place in Los Angeles last week.
Apart from these “very high resolution” panels, Samsung showed its new Quantum Dot on Glass (QDoG) screen technology, which, as its name says, allows to embed the “quantum dots” in glass directly. In this way it is possible to lower their production and make them finer. The panels of today use a technology called Quantum Dot Enhanced Film, which is difficult to produce and requires additional protection measures to prevent damage. Most of today’s Samsung high-end screens use Quantum Dot panels, which offer a greater chromatic range without falling into the “burns” associated with OLED technology and, in addition, offering lower latencies than what these panels usually offer.
Would you switch to 8K eventually, or do you find this “pixel craze” a bit silly, and you are happy with your 1080p/4K TV? Explain your point view in the comments!

Of course I will upgrade to 8k as this is when it can truly become a large screen monitor. 1080P is not a good desktop at large format and I will skip 4k for a 8k monitor. Up scaling chip will obviously be of importance but upgrade your graphic card and you will be able to drive 8k.
