The developer team talks about Destiny 2: Forsaken’s darker narrative.

The fans of the game got shocked when they learned last month that Destiny 2’s new expansion, Forsaken will start with their favourite character’s death. It will be the start of the story and the revenge of the main character.

In Destiny 2’s new developer video Bungie and High Moon Studios – the teams behind the Forsaken expansion –talk about the narrative. Eric Osborne (Head of Community) thinks that although first, it may seem like that they killed Cayde-6 purely for shocking people, in reality, his death is much more meaningful because this way they can expand Destiny’s world and make it richer.

The other devs tried to make it clear that it’s a much smaller story in its scope, it won’t be about saving the world, it will be a personal story about revenge.
