There will be several betas – and PlayStation 4-owners will be at an advantage again.
Activision and Treyarch announced when the betas will be held. All of them will start and end at 10 AM Pacific / 1 PM Eastern / 6 PM BST / 7 PM CEST!
- PlayStation 4 Exclusive: August 3 – August 6
- PlayStation 4 and Xbox One: August 10 – August 13
- PC Beta Early Access: from August 10 (Battle.net required for the PC version!)
- PC Open Beta: August 11 – August 13
Each participant will get a unique calling card, and if you reach the max level in the beta, you’ll get a permanent unlock token in the full game to unlock an item in Create-a-Class for yourself. Pick 10 returns to Create-a-Class, Gear will be a new slot to modify your gameplay style, and the gears will also receive unique accessories.
The beta will come with six maps, two specialists (Nomad and Prophet) will return, and the game modes will be the following: Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, and the new Control. „In Control, teams alternate rounds between attacking and defending two static objectives. Each team has a limited number of lives in this first-to-three wins match-up, so strategic strikes and defensive positioning are key, making for some fast and frenetic gunfights,” the press release says.
The beta will not have the battle royale mode called Blackout. That will receive a separate beta in September. Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII will launch on October 12 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
