Activision is probably trying to push back used game sales with this method…
Or maybe not. We’re not sure. The game’s website confirms that out of the three Spyro games, only the FIRST one will be on the Blu-ray disc, and you’ll have to download the other two titles. Spyro’s official Twitter account also says that there will be no code – the content will automatically be downloaded from the servers.
We have to stop here for a moment: with Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy, all three games were readily available on disc on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while the purple dragon doesn’t have the same approach. What if the game servers, services will be stopped on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One? Those who’d collect these games in the future will have only one game on the disc, and the rest will be gone in the digital ether…
What a disappointment. Spyro: Reignited Trilogy will launch on September 21 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and we also saw a possible PC and Nintendo Switch release, too…
