After more than a decade of silence, V-Rally is returning, although with new developers.
V-Rally 4 is being developed by the same team that recently makes the World Rally Championship’s video game adaptations with more or less average results (we’re talking about Kylotonn). At least they keep trying to succeed: they included a Hill Climb mode in V-Rally 4. The goal is that you start from the bottom, and get to the top in the fastest time possible, possibly in one piece.
Hill Climb will be in several countries, not just in the United States (DiRT already took a shot at the famous Pikes Peak event) – the game will go to China and Romania as well. (The team could have been more creative, though: Switzerland, Austria, or maybe even the Italian and the French part of the Alps could have been considered. The dev team is French so that they could have done something local, too…)
V-Rally 4 is out on September 6 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The PC port will follow on September 25, and the Nintendo Switch version will come later this year.
