Monster Hunter World was released nearly a year ago on consoles and it’s available on PC for a few days now. Except in China.
China is a huge market for gaming too, therefore it’s critically important for the companies to be dominant and important in the country. The game was published by Tencent there until now because recently the company stopped selling the game through its digital platform.
The game was previously available to buy through WeGame, which is a digital distribution platform that is similar to Steam. GameIndustry.biz asked them about why the game was removed and WeGame replied that they received a large number of complaints regarding the game from Chinese regulators. By the way, these complaints usually include sexual content and blood.
WeGame announced that anyone can refund the game without conditions until August 20.
