Capcom wanted to make sure that Nero’s controls will be familiar to those players who previously played Devil May Cry 4.
Hideaki Itsuno, Devil May Cry 5’s director, told 4Gamer, a Japanese publication, that Nero’s controls will be familiar in the game, close to what DMC4 had a decade ago. He said in the interview that one of the primary goals for the team was to make a few things as familiar as possible, which is meant to appease veteran Devil May Cry players in the process.
Dante’s bike is going to be one of his weapons, and Itsuno said the reason behind showing it off was simple: he felt that the Western audience would appreciate it. There will also be a weapon that changes shape but keeping its mass, unlike Devil May Cry 4‘s Pandora, which also changed its weight with its transformation.
Devil May Cry 5 will have auto-assist as well, and, unlike in previous entries of the franchise, it can be switched on/off on the fly. If we keep it on, the game will still prioritise our controller inputs over the auto-assist help.
Devil May Cry 5 will launch on March 8 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
