Sucker Punch gives attention to the smallest detail in sword fighting – they couldn’t have found better professionals!
Ghost of Tsushima, a game set deep in the heart of the Japanese culture, has a story in the beginnings of the samurai era, and the developers didn’t want to cut corners. They were so serious that they hired two professionals from a Japanese school called Tenshinryu Hyohou. Masakumo Kuwami is a 10th Grandmaster, while Ryusetsu Ide is a Daihan (an assistant instructor), and they both have the know-how of Kenjutsu, which is a general term for Japanese swordsmanship.
Tenshinryu Hyohou announced on Facebook, while Sucker Punch posted on Twitter a few pictures of Kuwami’s and Ide’s participation, and since the school was founded in the 17th century, we can’t ignore their capabilities.
Have a look at Kuwami’s presentation below – it’s fantastic, isn’t it? Too bad that the PlayStation 4-exclusive Ghost of Tsushima has no release window announced yet at the moment.
