Rockstar‘s game was presented to the public at GameStop’s event, and the participants were far from being impressed.
At the 2018 GME Conference, Red Dead Redemption 2 got a presentation, and making any kind of recording of it wasn’t allowed. However, one, since then deleted Instagram post, proved that what we’re talking about is not a fluke:
However, the Reddit users weren’t as hopeful as the post (saying it will be the greatest game ever made). Let’s quote a few of the posts: „Extended gameplay of what’s already been shown. Almost put me to sleep.”; „You might as well have put lullaby music into the trailer to accompany the narration. I also fell asleep a few times during that demo.”; I kept looking at my watch… “the action is going to start…now? Please?”; „Rockstar Equestrian Simulator 2k19. Also, the guy talking about it was boring as fuck.”; „Beautiful game, but mostly just saw a horse riding simulator. Very difficult to stay awake…” There were a few comments that also pointed out that the presenter did not run during the demo.
A few other positive comments aside, we learned that Red Dead Redemption 2‘s demo was the last one that day, and thus, it explains how a few people talked about falling asleep. We also learned the demo was about escaping from a bank heist on a horse, and that there will be some aim assist, and the deadeye mode will be similar to Fallout’s V.A.T.S. system. The dialogues will give you a bit of time to choose your option, too.
We won’t be surprised if GameStop won’t release this presentation to the public. Red Dead Redemption 2 launches on October 26 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
