Sony had to respond to the dangerous messages, and they have done so.
Ask PlayStation’s UK Twitter account has posted the following tweet: „We’ve since fixed the issue, and it wasn’t bricking consoles, just sending them into a crash loop that can be quickly fixed in under 5 minutes. Delete the message on the PS mobile app, go into Safe Mode, use Option 5, console back to normal.” Although VG247 says Sony was planning to fix the issue via a firmware update, they might have done so without it. (Still, better be safe than sorry and install that firmware when it shows up…)
Jeuxvideo-Live reports that the PlayStation Now service, which not only allows you to stream PlayStation games on your PC but also allows you to download select games on your PlayStation 4 (this method is how Sony tries to compete with the Xbox Game Pass), is getting a deal in Europe. Instead of the 15-euro monthly price, you can subscribe for just ten euros until October 24, 1 PM Central European Time. The service is available in most of Western Europe.
One issue fixed here, another offer provided there…
