Will The PlayStation 5 Have A Touchscreen Controller?

Sony filed a new patent for a controller

The patent was filed at America’s USPTO, and it surfaced on Reddit. The official description details what the patent is about, but we wouldn’t like to quote it, as it is mostly a technical definition, but it describes the essential functions of a controller. However, it also brings up a touchscreen, too.

It could be nothing more than a DualShock 4, but frankly, why would Sony create and release a touchscreen edition of the controller with the PlayStation 4 has been on the market for roughly five years? It makes no sense. This is why we believe the patent is for the next PlayStation (which has no official name yet) controller.

Let’s hope that Sony won’t end up pulling out a new touchscreen controller for the PlayStation 4. It would look funny if the Japanese company tries to copy the Wii U…
