A virtual reality-escape the room game, with a time limit?
The „Escape the room” genre can be traced back to 1993’s Myst, wherein pre-rendered environments, from a first-person perspective, we had to look for clues to our problem, with point-and-click gameplay. Ubisoft made something similar with Escape The Lost Pyramid (which is set in the world of Assassin’s Creed: Origins): in it, we have to find Sir Beldon Frye’s treasure in the pyramid, and we will have a single hour to escape from it with one, or three friends.
However, we have to point out that this game is not meant to be released at home. Ubisoft plans to launch it in places like Virtual Univers in Nantes, Virtual Incorporation in Bordeaux, Game of Room in Villeurbanne, or Infinite VR in Mandelieu La Napoule. It’s an arcade VR experience, and Ubisoft considers this game as the beginning.
Escape The Lost Pyramid is set to launch in 2019. It’s something that seems to be better to experience than to discuss, so let’s see what the video below has in store for us. The idea is good, though…
