CD Projekt RED wants to see its game as high-quality at launch (or in general) as Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2.
During a call with Vestor DM (a broker house), Adam Kiciński, CD Projekt RED‘s CEO, said the following: „Without a doubt, quality is of paramount importance. We strive to publish games which are as refined as Red Dead Redemption 2, and recent Rockstar releases in general. That game is excellent, by the way, we are rooting for it. Rave reviews, excellent sales. What does that teach us? Well, it teaches us that we need to publish extraordinary games, and that’s exactly what we are planning. Gamers tend to focus more and more on hit releases, and it pays to be among the best – that’s how you get a nice fat slice of cake, businesswise, and the same cannot be said for the lower leagues.”
Regarding Cyberpunk 2077, he also said that its development is „progressing fast and according to plan,” with the team having time set aside to fix minor and major bugs before the next major CDPR game releases. (Currently, they are building the game’s world.)
The game still has no release date, and, if we think about it, its target platforms are also somewhat uncertain… the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC trio was mentioned often.
