Former Dragon Age Director Joins Ubisoft!

Mike Laidlaw, who was the writer and creative director on Dragon Age for a long time, has joined Ubisoft Quebec, the primary developer team of Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey.

Regarding Laidlaw, a blog post revealed that the newcomer is now working on an „unannounced, new project.” In the previous nine months, he already had a consultant role, but Laidlaw joined the Canadian Ubisoft team full-time.

Laidlaw previously worked on games such as Mass Effect, Jade Empire, or Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood before spearheading 2014’s Dragon Age: Inquisition. He left BioWare in October 2017; then he helped a Kickstarter RPG, Waylanders (but he has handed over his involvement to an ex-Telltale writer, Emily Grace Buck). It seems his new job was so outstanding that he even moved over to Quebec from the other side of Canada, namely Edmonton, going by the LinkedIn post. Ubisoft‘s Quebec studio recently opened a second location, and it also hired 200 other people as well.

We can’t wait to hear more about this new project…

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
