Somehow, a few people managed to get a copy of the game – spoiler alert and a response from Tetsuya Nomura follows.
Nibel posted two photos on Twitter showing that somebody already has Kingdom Hearts III on Xbox One, and he recommends us to avoid social media and YouTube due to possible spoilers. (We have to ask here: how can the discs be manufactured if the game’s release is still over a month away…?)
Tetsuya Nomura, the game’s director, responded on Twitter with a message: „We’re aware that a small portion of Kingdom Hearts III has been circulating online before its official release. We are also aware as to how this has all happened. We’re sorry to see this caused concern amongst our fans who are excited about the release. The whole team has been working together since yesterday night (Japan time) to investigate what we can do to better this situation, but first, we would like to ask that you do not share these videos. The game’s epilogue and secret movie, which are the biggest spoilers in this game, are planned to be released at a later date just in case, so they will not be shown before the game’s release. […]” Which means, the game will not be released in a complete form, and those who collect physical copies will get screwed once again, as downloading will be required to access the entire game. This is how you dig a grave for physical collectors.
Kingdom Hearts III is out in the West on January 29 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Here’s a 30-second Japanese TV commercial for the game.
Heads up, Kingdom Hearts fans:
The full version (!) of KH3 appears to be out in the wild (some screenshots and videos exist that I won’t share here)
But yeah, be careful on both social media and YouTube pic.twitter.com/6QKhu31IaZ
