The European company talks about the crossplay development, at this moment for Generation Zero and also the expected RAGE 2.
The crossplay has been an important feature for fans for some time now, and exercises such as the late adoption of crossplay in PS4 for this show that users around the world believe that it is something relevant and that manufacturers should bet on it. Will it be a functionality that is more relevant in the future and comes standard on the next generation machines? At Avalanche Studios they do not see that such a crazy idea.
“With the recent trends that we have seen lately, we do not rule out crossplay being the standard,” said a studio spokesman, producer Paul Keslin in an interview with the GamingBolt portal. “New technologies are always something exciting to live and work, so we are looking forward to seeing what the future holds … Both for players and developers.”
The Swedish studio is currently working on the expected RAGE 2, as well as a new intellectual property: a shooter called Generation Zero. Both, if nothing goes wrong, should be released during the brand new year 2019 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
