Resident Evil 2 Remake is selling well – we just had to say that Capcom will release a sales figure shortly, and they listened to us!
The publisher announced on their website that in Resident Evil 2 Remake‘s launch week, the game shipped three million copies total on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. So in a weekend, Capcom effectively hit three million sales with the remake of the survival horror game that first came out in 1998 on the PS1 (and later, other platforms, too). It’s not a bad result. Congratulations!
Capcom also announced on Twitter that the previously revealed The Ghost Survivors mode, which we discussed before, got a release date. It will launch on February 15, as a free update! This mode follows a „what if?” thought with three characters that originally die in the story of Resident Evil 2. (The characters and their respective stores are the following: the weapon shop owner Robert Kendo – No Time to Mourn; Katherine Warren, the daughter of the mayor – Runaway; and the unnamed soldier – Forgotten Soldier.)
So after 2017’s Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and 2018’s Monster Hunter: World, Capcom had another successful game launch in January. It seems to become a trend…
