CD Projekt RED didn’t hire just one or two people – there are far more employees working on their next game…
Although Sebastian Stępień, the former creative director, has left CD Projekt RED to work on Blizzard, the Polish team has expanded significantly. On Stockwatch, a Polish website, CD Projekt RED was asked if Stępień’s departure would affect the game’s development or not. The answer follows: „His departure does not affect the pace of work on our latest title in any way. The team working on Cyberpunk 2077 already has over 400 people.”
That’s new information! Until now, we didn’t know how many people work on CD Projekt RED‘s newest game. That 400 figure is far higher than The Witcher 3’s team, which consisted of 250 people (including an outsourced QA testing team). By simple math, that means CD Projekt RED has expanded by (at least!) 60%!
CD Projekt RED is serious. We hope we’ll be able to play Cyberpunk 2077 in the current console generation…
