Warren Spector’s Response To Disney’s Pessimistic Comment!

Disney‘s CEO, Robert Iger, previously said that they were never good at developing and/or publishing games, and they are now rather focusing on licensing their IP. Well, Warren Spector, a video game industry veteran who previously worked for them, has responded to the comment!

Warren Spector is anything but a talentless hack. Just have a look at the franchises he either worked on or created: Wing Commander, Ultima, System Shock, Thief, Deus Ex. He also made the two Epic Mickey games for Disney in 2010 and 2012 respectively at Junction Point Studios (which got quickly shut down in early 2013…), so he has experience with the company. Thus, he responded on Twitter ():

„Huh. I guess I should be insulted when Robert Iger says Disney has never been good at video games, but I’ll just take the high road and stand proud with the Epic Mickey team and laud them for the great work they – we – did for Disney.”

Spector doesn’t take the comment seriously…

Anikó, our news editor and communication manager, is more interested in the business side of the gaming industry. She worked at banks, and she has a vast knowledge of business life. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
