This time, Steam itself has made a mistake…
We have heard a lot about Obsidian’s game recently, which is reasonable, as The Outer Worlds was the cover story for GameInformer this month. However, the release date was never brought up. If you look at SteamDB, you might see how the game had an exact release date that was then quickly removed from the store page!
Private Division, Take-Two’s new publishing arm, might release The Outer Worlds on August 6 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It doesn’t look like a placeholder date, as it falls on a Tuesday, and we usually see major console/PC releases on either Tuesdays or Fridays. Of course, the day was pulled and was replaced by the previous „2019” window, which was confirmed before.
If the RPG does come out in early August, it wouldn’t be a bad idea! No Man’s Sky also used this timeframe in 2016, and it didn’t have much competition on the market. If Obsidian does time the game to August, we might have the hit of the end of the summer in the „not Fallout!”
