If the rumours are true, Ubisoft might have taken a surprising turn…
The first Watch_Dogs was set in Chicago, with the sequel put into the San Francisco Bay Area. Therefore, we can say that hacking has gone towards an American setting. However, there’s a 4chan post that mentions several things about the unannounced-but-known-by-everyone title that even Ubisoft has teased a few times before. (Another similar game could be Take-Two/Gearbox’ Borderlands 3…)
The post states that Ubisoft will not release a new Assassin’s Creed this year (which is reasonable seeing how AC: Odyssey is getting expanded over time). Instead, they will get Watch_Dogs 3 out, with London (!!!) as its location! There might be a bigger emphasis on knives and smaller firearms in combat, and an even sharper focus on hacking, a traditional gameplay element, than before. There will also be a new character, whose gender (male, female) we can select (a la Far Cry 5), but the story will be the same.
As even GameReactor has heard about such information and seeing how Ubisoft doesn’t comment about the leak, we probably learned the French company’s plans, even if it’s not official at the moment. So let’s wait until the E3 announcement, and the launch at the end of this year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC…
Let’s talk about the next Assassin’s Creed. It would be called Assassin’s Creed: Legion, and it would come in 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and potentially next-gen consoles as well! It would be the final part of the Ancient Trilogy, and its location would be Italy (Roman Empire), shortly after Marcus Aurelius rule (he died in 180), and his son, Commodus (who died 192) would also play a role in the plot, which thus would be set in the 2nd century. The main year would be 193, the year of the five emperors. We could choose from Cassius and Lucia to be the playable character, and they would both be the descendants of the heroes of Assassin’s Creed: Origins and Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey. Ubisoft Sofia’s game would take a turn towards political affairs, assassinations, and the first civilization. The first image can be seen below.
It would be amazing if this rumour is true.
