MOVIE NEWS – After the 2005 Doom film, another one is coming soon. It seems even the publisher is distancing itself from it…
Doom: Annihilation is made by Universal 1440 Entertainment, an arm of Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. It is immediately jumping the movie rounds, as it’s going to be a direct-to-video release (meaning it’s going to immediately debut on DVD, Blu-ray or Netflix and the like…). Story-wise, a group of space marines are being sent to a Martian base to check the distress signal. They end up finding a lot of demons there…
Doom: Annihilation‘s writer is Tony Giglio (S.W.A.T.: Under Siege), and it starts Amy Manson, Louis Mandylor, Hari Dhillon, and Nina Bergman. The movie was rumoured as early as 2011, but since then, we haven’t heard much about it (and since then, even the original Doom 4 concept was canned, which turned out to be a wise decision).
Here’s the joke: a fan asked id Software‘s and Doom’s official Twitter accounts’ opinion, and Doom’s response follows: „We’re not involved with the movie.” Which means Bethesda disavows it!
The trailer is available below… and we never thought the 2005 movie might be better than future Doom movies.
