The Value of Assassin’s Creed Unity is Going Up Since the Notre Dame Catastrophe!

Assassin’s Creed: Unity‘s Xbox Live code was about 1.3 euros or so G2A.com. After the Notre-Dame burned down, the price has risen. Not by 5-10%, nope. The game is now about 25 euros. You can check on the link yourself – that’s a good 1700% increase or so! On PC, the situation is not that bad, but it’s still problematic – on G2A.com, the price was less than four euros, but now it’s about 22 after a ~600% increase. There’s an issue with it, though, which is why we explained it in detail.

While the price has increased significantly on other platforms (PlayStation 4, Xbox One), on PC, you can get Assassin’s Creed: Unity for free, which is why this price increase is unbelievable (even with the PC version) – if you click here on uPlay, then you can add the 2014 Assassin’s Creed game to your library permanently until April 25, 9 AM local time.

The issue here is that so many people tried to acquire the game that the Ubisoft servers have given up with a white flag, which is why the French company had to do maintenance, as well as increase the server capacity. They did not stop there: they also announced that they will donate 500 thousand euros to help restore the Notre-Dame cathedral. As their game includes said cathedral (which is why it will be used in the restoration process), it’s a kind gesture from them.

Meanwhile, on Steam, Assassin’s Creed: Unity got stricken by the reviewers… but this time, Ubisoft‘s game doesn’t get negative reviews, but positive ones! In the past four days, it got over 500 positive reviews, while before it, it got about ten reviews a day. A lot of reviews had heart-warming, kind comments, thanking the company for making the game easier to access: „Thanks Ubisoft and Assassin’s Creed Unity for giving us an opportunity to appreciate what Notre Dame used to be. God bless France!”, „I finished Unity literally the night before Notre Dame caught fire. Besides being absolutely devastated for such a historic loss and even shedding a tear for it, I also kind of felt close to it because ‘I was just there the night before’,” two reviews say.

Will Steam remove these reviews as well? Let’s hope not!
