The Switch might be getting a slight update this year…
The Nintendo Switch – which we said yesterday that it surpassed the Nintendo 64’s lifetime sales, although it is not official yet... – has been discussed several times this year about its rumoured new models. Another respectable publication has joined the queue – Bloomberg says something about it, too.
Two people who are familiar with the matter told Bloomberg that the Nintendo Switch is planned to get a „new, cheaper version” by the end of June. It’s the cheap, budget model that we discussed multiple times before, and if it’s legitimate information, it might be revealed during the Nintendo E3 Direct, unless the company announces it beforehand.
There’s another sentence portion that says „a more powerful version is not in the works,” which goes against what we have heard before from publications such as the Wall Street Journal maybe? It’s surprising, but let’s add that the Switch is going to get a „modest upgrade” by the end of 2019. Interesting, so there will be no „Switch XL” but a „New” model?
It’s all unconfirmed information at the moment. Perhaps Nintendo might talk about its plans regarding the Nintendo Switch later this week in its 2018 fiscal year report.
