Was there ever a case before where no less than 50% of the PlayStation Plus games have been changed? The answer is very likely a big no – Sony has likely never done such a major shift before…
On the PlayStation Blog, we read that there’s a significant shift in the July PlayStation Plus games, available for free for those who subscribe to play PlayStation 4 games online. On Wednesday, we reported in disappointment that the two games will be Pro Evolution Soccer 2019, and Horizon Chase Turbo for July. Well, forget that. You can cross off one title from this list!
„We are making a swap to the PlayStation Plus games lineup for July. This month, we are adding Detroit: Become Human Digital Deluxe Edition, which also includes Heavy Rain (Beyond Two Souls), to the July games lineup instead of Pro Evolution Soccer 2019. We apologize for any inconvenience,” the PS Blog says. So: it’s likely that the initial pair of games caused such a major ruckus amongst the subscribers (as Sony effectively wanted to give away an outdated football game) that they had to contact Quantic Dream, a French dev team heading towards multiplatform development, to help them out. (Or it was Konami that did a heel turn. Who knows…?)
So we’ll get to play four games until August 5, as aside from Horizon Chase Turbo, you get three games via the deluxe edition of Detroit: Become Human, as it contains the two PS3 games, Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls. In case you missed them, you can catch up with these now. (But weren’t these PS Plus titles before…?)
We’re quoting ourselves from Wednesday, as one statement still stands: „Sony will likely not put any effort in at the end of the console generation, which means we still have a very tough year ahead of us Plus games-wise…”
