CD Projekt RED Works On More Than One Cyberpunk Project!

For CD Projekt RED, Cyberpunk 2077 is not a one-off – they have more plans.

Bankier, a Polish website reports about how CD Projekt RED revealed their development roadmap for the Polish financial media. Their next game is Cyberpunk 2077, which is out on April 16 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Regarding it, Adam Kiciński, the CEO of the company, said that the press can try the game in early 2020 to publish previews of it. He added that the balance between PC and PlayStation 4/Xbox One will shift further towards the consoles than with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt: „A strong dose of new information about Cyberpunk 2077 should be expected at the beginning of next year when the previews will appear. Then industry journalists will already be playing and writing about it. If I had to shoot, maybe the share of sales on PC will be a bit smaller, because the consoles have increased their base of devices significantly since 2015, plus ‘The Witcher’ series has historically been more tied to PCs,” Kiciński said. Piotr Nielubowicz, the vice president, added a comment about the digital sales’ ratio: „I think that maybe The Witcher 3 had less than 30 per cent. [We expect] Cyberpunk 2077 will reach 40-50 per cent.”

But there’s more than one Cyberpunk project is being made by the Polish devs. It turns out they are working on three projects  at the same time. The second will be the multiplayer component of Cyberpunk 2077, and the third one will be what we guessed (and wrote) about, as they want to release their next AAA major title by 2021. „We’re working on three ‘Cyberpunk’ things – over the main game and over two more. These are three teams. We are also working on ‘Gwent’ and we have still an unannounced game in Spokko [mobile division]. So we have five working teams, three working on ‘Cyberpunk’,” Kiciński said. „Our next big project will also be in the ‘Cyberpunk’ universe, and we’re already working on it and treating it as a really big and innovative project for us,” Nielubowicz added.

Now that is a major turn of events.
