Concrete Genie, which we haven’t seen much in recent times, to say the least, is coming shortly.
Sony Interactive Entertainment and Pixelopus announced on the PlayStation Blog that Concrete Genie will be available in two formats. The standard edition will cost $29.99 USD / $39.99 CAD / €29.99. The Digital Deluxe Edition, containing a digital soundtrack, a digital artbook, the Pond Design add-on pack, and a PlayStation 4 Lighthouse dynamic theme, will cost (MSRP) $39.99 USD / $49.99 CAD / €39.99.
The who pre-order will get a PlayStation Network avatar set and a PlayStation 4 Denska dynamic theme, featuring a rooftop scene with special music composed by Sam Marshall. Those who own a PlayStation VR will get two exclusive game modes, and on top of those, there will also be a Photo Mode available right from the start for everyone. It will have a special time-lapse function that allows players to show how they put their artworks together.
The game is not meant to be an AAA title, as it will cost just half of a usual AAA game. Concrete Genie will launch on October 8 in the Americas, followed by the European start on October 9. What is this game about, you ask? „Concrete Genie is a game about a bullied teenager named Ash, who escapes his troubles by painting spectacular living landscapes and mischievous creatures throughout his abandoned hometown of Denska. As he masters this magical paint, he discovers it can purify Denska’s polluted walls. Can Ash overcome the bullies and paint his hometown back to life?”, the late October 2017 announcement press release says.
Let’s hope that the delays (the game was delayed twice, first to Spring 2019, then Fall 2019) will result in a quality game. We’ll see in a few months, won’t we?
